Avene Facial Cream Review
Avene is one of the top makeup brands. For years, Avene has been developing products especially for sensitive, dry or over-productive skin. There’s also a wide variety for men, with specially formulated formulas to soothe sensitive skin irritated by daily shaving. This article will review Avene makeup products and discuss how they compare to other leading makeup brands.
Avene Pure Thermal Spring Water is Avene’s first product in its own family. Avene is well known for its skincare brands including its line of concentrated skincare products. They are well-known for their natural products and use no harsh chemicals, parabens or synthetic fragrances. Pure thermal spring water is one of the benefits of Avene Pure Thermal Spring Water.
Avene’s other products include Avene Elemis Cleanser, Avene Original Oil-Free Skin Care Cream, Avene Day Moisturizer and Avene Roll on Floor Coverage Cream. The cleanser and day moisturizer were designed by Dr. Zein Elabdine, who is an expert in skin care research. Avene’s anti-aging skincare products are designed with research based in the US by Dr. Youssef Elabdine. Dr. Elabdine is also a practicing dermatologist.
Avene Elemis Cleanser is a lightweight cleanser, which removes oil, dirt and dead skin from your face. The mineral content is rich, which provides protection against the development of contact dermatitis (caused by allergens, pollutants, irritants or harmful chemicals). It’s not really an oil-free moisturizer. What you feel is oiliness after cleansing. The cleanser is also free of mineral oil, but does have an oil-water-composition. This results in an effective but safe and natural exfoliation.
Avene Original Oil-Free Face Moisturizer contains Avene’s Thermo Nano technology. Unlike many other brands, Avene uses pure sodium niacinamide, rather than mineral oil, to increase moisture retention. The proprietary formula also contains Avene’s Thermal Gold to improve tone and elasticity. It also contains a variety of plant extracts and natural minerals, including vitamin E and copper.
Avene Thermals are specially designed to penetrate deeply through many of your skin’s layers. They work equally well for normal to dry skin. You may be wondering why they use a special formulation for oily to dry skin. There are several reasons.
First, Avene realized that most mineral water sprays did not contain enough concentration to really benefit your skin. When I was using springtime skin care products, I often used two pumps of the cream. Because my skin was so oily, I did not get the results I was looking for. The oil simply got absorbed into my skin and went nowhere. By using Avene’s thermal water spray, I received the moisture I needed without over-drying.
Second, Avene wanted people to appreciate their products on a “real man” basis, so they decided to personalize the thermal pad with a leather exterior. Many people have commented that this really makes an attractive show case, especially when traveling. My only concern at this point is that the pad could become uncomfortable if it is exposed to sweat. That is something to consider when purchasing the Avene thermal spray.
Third, the Avene thermal shampoo bottle contains an interesting bit of history. The Avene company formed when Avene founder Frank Avene was working on a company called Saint &r Ogerie. The company was purchased in November of 1965 by KKL, an engineering and research firm owned by the German pharmaceutical giant KEGA. Saint &r Ogerie later became Avene.
A visit to Avene’s manufacturing facility revealed that everything is done in a sanitized, temperature-controlled environment. Employees wear gloves and masks to protect themselves from the chemicals they are exposed to each day. Employees are instructed to wash their hands thoroughly before using products on the manufacturing floor. The manufacturing facility also uses a type of absorbent clay to absorb liquids from the floor and keep them from being released into the air. After the product has dried, it is wiped and polished to create a smooth surface.
In our Avene cream review, we concluded that this brand’s cleanser and medicated cream are both excellent. We liked how Avene advertised the fact that the medicated cream was an “extra emollient” – meaning it softens and moisturizes the skin without making it feel oily. It is very similar to a regular cream, except it doesn’t have the extra chemicals and alcohol in it to add to the dryness. It works very well as a regular cleansing agent, and our cream test volunteers were very pleased with its ability to gently remove dirt and oil without over drying or damaging the skin.
Another Avene product that has received favorable reviews is their innovative hydrating facial cream. This eye cream uses a unique technology that provides twice the amount of moisture our skin needs in a thinner, more concentrated form. The unique technology is based on Avene’s extensive experience and knowledge of how the body works. Our beauty expert Avene Skincare review concludes that Avene’s hydrating facials will provide you with long lasting, noticeable results.
