How to Choose Medik8 or Alpha Hydroxy Acids and How to Benefit From It

Alpha Hydroxy Acids are extracts from milk and fruit juices. The most popular alpha hydroxy acid used is glycolic acid, which has very limited information on it’s side effects and effectiveness. It is also very expensive and can be very hard to find. In this article I will share my experience using these acids for the first time in a professional capacity.

My professional cosmetic practice uses a large range of different ingredients in a wide variety of products. Amongst some of these ingredients are Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Resveratrol and other antioxidants. One of the most popular and most frequently used product is Alpha Hydroxy Acids. There have been many claims made about this ingredient; however, I am only going to focus on two benefits of alpha hydroxy acids.

One benefit is that they are very good at helping eliminate acne blemishes. I have patients come to me very quickly with issues like severe sun sensitivity, blackheads, whiteheads and even severe redness. These are all issues associated with excess sebum production and blackheads are typically associated with too much oil production on the skin surface. Alpha hydroxy acids help reduce excess oil production and therefore reduce the number of blackheads, a patient might have.

Another benefit associated with the use of alpha hydroxy acids is that they can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Wrinkles generally occur with advancing age, poor diet and lack of sleep. This is due to the loss of collagen in the skin as we get older. Collagen is a protein found in our connective tissue and in our blood vessels. It is the main structural protein in our face and neck and also plays an important role in keeping our skin youthful and elastic.

Some people may be more sensitive than others when it comes to the effects of ultraviolet rays from the sun. For this reason, they may want to consider using an alternative sunscreen. They are also effective at helping fade age spots. They work by creating a thin barrier on the skin that protects the melanin pigment within the skin from damage from UV radiation. Many consumers just use plain old white or ivory colored SPF based lotions and creams and hope for the best.

The problem with a product like this though is that often times they do not provide the results consumers are looking for. Sometimes they don’t work because the product is just not designed to work this way. Usually what happens is that people end up with dead skin cells on their face or neck. Then when they try an exfoliant to remove these dead cells, the exfoliant does not work the way it was designed to work. So the dead skin cells remain on the skin surface as more dead skin cells accumulate.

A better alternative than using an exfoliant to help remove dead skin cells is to use products that contain alpha hydroxy acids. These alpha hydroxy acids have been scientifically proven to be able to penetrate the skin deeper than other ingredients. This is why they are commonly used in eye creams, cleansers and skin treatments. Using an ingredient that can do this effectively means that people are less likely to develop fine lines and wrinkles prematurely. They are also more likely to have a smoother skin overall.

Finding a good eye cream, facial cleanser and exfoliator doesn’t have to be hard. Many people are overwhelmed by the sheer number of medik8, alpha hydroxy acids and other similar products that are available today. Many of these products claim to offer amazing results, but before buying any of them, people need to be sure that they are actually using one of these products instead of some cheap over-the-counter lotion or face wash that will simply rinse off with soap and water. A lot of people end up using these products without ever noticing any kind of difference in their skin. This is why it’s best to shop around and find a reliable brand before spending your hard-earned money.
